Assessment of Risks By Making Some Environmental Measurements In The Wood and Furniture Industry

This research is a study conducted to instill occupational health and safety awareness among employees in order to ensure more efficient occupational health and safety in a business that produces wooden furniture. For this purpose, it is aimed to prevent work accidents, occupational diseases and injuries by predicting the risks that may occur due to work accidents, occupational diseases and injuries that occur in the enterprise. Because of the structure of wooden furniture, the machining process is commonly used, and occupational disorders are frequently noticed in workers who are exposed to noise, vibration, and dust for extended periods of time. Many quantitative and qualitative methods are utilized in risk assessment, and this study used the Failure Modes and Effects (FMEA) risk analysis method to ensure the preliminary identification of occupational diseases, work accidents, and injuries. Measurements were taken one by one using the essential devices to learn the values of dust, noise, temperature, vibration, and light in the workplace. The measurement results were statistically modeled and interpreted. Additionally, flaws in the working environment were discussed in conjunction with the measurements taken. It is a study conducted to establish a healthier and safer working environment for employees, to assure employee comfort, and to contribute to greater work efficiency. The findings of this study were determined to be relevant to existing workplaces and similar businesses.
